Chantal Nicolet is an entirely self taught artist. Her creativity springs from a childhood in Northern Alberta. Chantal’s love of diversity was cradled in Falher, a beacon of French culture in the midst of the peace country.
The recurrent theme of her work has been children of the world and the joy of wonderment that unites them.
“At five years of age, I attended my preschool graduation. I stepped up to the podium and announced to the world (classmates and parents) that I would be an artist when I grew up. As grown-ups often do… I lost sight of that dream for a while. One day, without a plan in sight, I went back to the age of innocence and became and artist once again.”
As an avid humanitarian, Chantal’s art work has consistently helped raise awareness and funds for individuals in need both locally and internationally. Travel adventures have inspired many of Chantal’s paintings. She now lives in Lunenburg Nova Scotia with her husband Nigel and son Sébastien.
“As I walk along, I see beautiful things all around me. Some of them are there, some I have imagined. With hands and brushes tubes of paint become moments, captured in time. May the paintings tell a different story to each admirer.”
